COVID-19, the CCP and Christians (who should wear the blame?)

As Christians largely adhered to Government pleas to stay at home, it appears that we have been lumped in with the “rebels” that chose to defy these orders. A recent article in an online news agency has predicted we may see a spike in cases of COVID-19 due to people flouting social distancing rules. However, it also went on to predict that religion would also play a part in the increase. It states, Easter is also a time of religious significance. Several US churches openly defied orders to close their doors, for example, though most took the welfare of their congregations to heart. Iran also had difficulties in people congregating close together in a number of holy sites, notes ANU infectious disease expert Dr Sanjaya Senanayake. And don’t forget the Christian group in Korea. So the issue of religious noncompliance with social distancing seems to involve various religions in various countries.

As always, secularism tries to link Christianity with troublemaking. Even though churches have been using digital platforms to continue providing sermons, devotionals and articles, Mendocino County in Northern California is restricting churches from streaming worship singing and the playing of wind instruments in online churches services unless the worship originates from individual residences.

The order issued by the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors states, “No signing or use of wind instruments, harmonicas, or other instruments that could spread COVID-19 through projected droplets shall be permitted unless the recording of the event is done at one’s residence, and involving only the member’s household or living unit, because of the increase risk of transmission of COVID-19.”

And let’s not forget about that God-hating city of New York. Mayor Bill de Blasio, reticent to direct his fury at the real source of this catastrophe (the Chinese Communist Party or CCP), went after softer targets – churches and synagogues. After noting that most religious leaders had heeded social distancing warnings and disbanded regular gatherings, de Blasio encouraged, “Everyone has been instructed that if they see worship services going on, they will go to the officials of that congregation, they’ll inform them they need to stop the services and disperse. If that does not happen, they will take additional action up to the point of fines”. But then the real threat came, “and potentially closing the building permanently.” Did you catch that? The Mayor of a city in a democracy threatened to close a worship building – in direct violation of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

Make no mistake – freedom taken easily is not freedom given back easily. Those hoping that the world will revert to what it was are sorely mistaken. This virus, whether or not you believe it has been as serious as purported, has changed this world forever – including those who proclaimed themselves as a beacon of democracy.

Bigotry was also only full display in the New York Times which ran the headline: “The Road to Coronavirus Hell Was Paved by Evangelicals.” The March 27 article, the title of which was later changed to “The Religious Right’s Hostility to Science Is Crippling Our Coronavirus Response”, blames so-called Christian nationalism for its “major role” in America’s incompetent response to the pandemic, saying, “Trump’s response to the pandemic has been haunted by the science denialism of his ultraconservative religious allies.”

Again, let’s direct our fury in the right direction. This path has been laid directly by the Chinese Community Party which silenced whistleblowers and covered up the truth about the virus, ensuring its unmitigated spread throughout the Western World. The World Health Organisation, which as since been found complicit in the cover up, should also shoulder the blame. It was a mouthpiece of propaganda from the CCP, boldly perpetuating lies that the Wuhan virus couldn’t be transmitted between humans and that China’s handling of the pandemic was exemplary.

Although Christians have become used to being the punching bag of atheists, agnostics, secularists, eco-radicalists, Islamists, communists, leftists and every other God-denying group on the planet, the audacity to claim that Christians have been complicit with the spread of COVID-19 is not only false, it is borderline slanderous. Most remarkable is the left’s ability to worship at the feet of the CCP, singing its praises and defending its honour while its leaders cover up the truth and infect the globe not only with a virus but also economic instability for decades to come. If that wasn’t bad enough, they then turn their attention to us, dragging Christians through the mud, scoffing at our charity and threatening to close our doors for good. We most certainly are living in a coronavirus hell, but Christians aren’t the ones who got us here.

The hostility against Christians, hidden for many years, is now on full display. Should this virus continue to plague nations, this may well spell the end for traditional churches services as scientists, Governments and the general God-hating community deem it unacceptable for us to meet as a group. Of course, we should not just blindly accept any decision made by the Government. Men and women gave their lives through multiple wars in order that we may be free. Freedom only exists if we have freedom of choice. But right now, our choices are diminishing and while our Government continues to vocally proclaim we remain a free nation, the opposite is becoming true.

As the weeks go on, we will examine certain elements of this virus which are changing the world. To those of us who are keenly aware of what is to come in Bible prophecy, we are not watching a virus – we are watching how world leaders are using the virus to further an agenda which leads straight into the lap of the Antichrist.
